Is pineapple a luxury good? Part II

Not anymore!

This weekend we brought a ton of fruits, including a couple of pineapples. The picture only shows the fruit sitting on the kitchen counter, and there are still some oranges in the fridge.

MM's birthday is around the corner so I guess we are in a festival mood. More importantly after a couple of months living together, our money bear, aka, the bear who manages our money, that is, MM, figured out we could make our ends meet. So he gave the green light for spending, on fruits at least :)

Also this week fruits are cheaper for whatever reasons. Perhaps summer is coming? Certainly in Australia seasonal price fluctuation is much more obvious than that in the US, where you can buy a pound of bananas for 60 cents almost year around. In comparison bananas has been sold for anywhere between 79 cents to 2.99 dollars per kg in the past 2.5 months we got here.

That's a lot of fruit there. Looks more than I buy for my family in a week....

We froze some mangoes and peaches and used them later for yogurt smoothies!
