This place is in fact not open to the public, and one can only get in with a friend with a membership. Even so you have to fill a sign-in sheet with your name and address, sign, and with your friend's signature beside yours, the guy at the door will finally nod.
The food was nothing special, full of standard stuff such as fish & chips and meat pie. On the fancy side they offer salmon, prawn and seafood basket. Every main course comes with salad and chips. They do have a decent looking bar but I don't know how diverse their collection is, as I don't drink. I ordered Tandoori chicken salad it was good--chicken was tender and the salad was fresh. The addressing though tasted rather like Caesar. Don't get me wrong, I am not against Caesar; just thought they might have changed to something more Asian to go with Tandoori chicken.
By the way, MM said he ordered Cajun chicken last time but it looked and tasted like Tandoori as well. I don't think that was a one time event. Tonight a couple of our friends ordered Cajun but they also looked like Tandoori.
To sum up,
Name: Labor club Civic
Price: OK, $15~25 for a main dish
Pros: Standard stuff on the menu--no big surprise, as if you were in McDonald
Cons: Standard stuff on the menu--not a good choice if you're in an adventurous mode.
Specularity: The chef likes to serve Tandoori chicken too much and if you long for any genuine Cajun chicken, try somewhere else.
Whether go back again: probably not, definitely not on ourselves.
