The oldest tree in the world

It was pine in California, but now the new record is set by Swedish spruces that are more than 9000 years old.

Eucalyptus trees seem to have learned the same trick. Shown in the picture there is a new tree grew out of its old root as well. I took this picture during a trip to Red Hill.
