Canberra food review V--Meiji Cafe

This is a Japanese restaurant in Dickson we walked by many times but only today we decided to give it a try. Why? The food pictures on their ad don't look very attractive.

Luckily the food was of much better quality than the pictures. Even better, with a very reasonable price tag. Hardly any main dish costs more than $15. MM ordered a Duck Undo soup for less than $10 and he was quite satisfied with it. My order tasted pretty good only there was hardly enough. Fortunately we also ordered a Sushi plate as en tree, with four big and eight small pieces Suchi (again for less than $10). The weird thing was, the Sushi plate was served last--do they serve Sushi as dessert in Japan?

The decor of the restaurant was a bit strange as well. They alternate traditional calligraphy and modern pictures of food to decorate their wall. Also strange was they didn't bring us any water until we asked.

To sum up,

Name: Meiji Cafe
Location: Dickson
Price: Very reasonable
Pros: Food quality is pretty good for the price
Cons: One has to ask for water and be prepared to have Sushi for dessert.
Peculiarity: decor
Whether go back: yes.
