Cheers and beers!

This is an impression I just learned from my supervisor, an Australian from WA (West Australia). In addition to "Cheers", he likes to throw in a free beer as well.

I enjoyed working with him so far. He is an easy-going fellow and often shows appreciation to my work. I even remember he gave positive feedbacks when I was interviewed over the phone. In comparison, the other two interviewers (from other two institution I applied for), were both quite serious and showed no emotion what so ever.

I in fact decided to accept this "Cheers and beers" offer before hearing from my last interviewer, which was a better fit academically. Why? Because this job seemed to offer two things 1) a high quality of life, and 2) a boss who appreciates what I'm doing.

Now. 40 days living in Australia and three weeks into my job, both promises came true. I am perfectly happy and times for "Cheers and bears"!
