Let the water run!

We got this painting from Rafi as a present. I really like it and it fits our apartment well. I wasn't there though when MM took it to a shop to frame it...a mistake.

MM picked a black frame for it! I agree it goes well with the painting color-wise. But the dark color frame also seems to stop the water in the painting from running!!! I wonder how a white frame will work.
Sigh...
