My shipping company finally delivered the last box today, 4.5 months after I got the other stuff. This puts an end to our international relocation episode.
I phoned and emailed them countless times for the "missing" box, including three letters of complaints--each was sent multiple times. There was certainly times I felt hopeless. What worked in the end? Send the same letter of complaint to people of different ranks together. It worked twice and in fact those were the only times they told me anything positive. This is either an coincidence or something might interest a behavioral economist. I understand an employer is more willing to act when a supervisor is cc'ed. But surprisingly the opposite is also true. The supervisor got back to me only when his supervisee was sent the same email as well.
