Pide bread from scratch

Both MM and I like Turkish bread and we normally buy them but this week I somehow forgot about it. When we found that out, I hate to go back. My recent success of making flour tortillas gave me courage to say, "I'll make some!"

I did and it was quite successful as you can see from the picture. It is really not that difficult if you have made pizza before and the two processes are in fact quite similar. Judging from my past two happen ending of making tortillas and pide bread, half of the success lies in finding a good and genuine recipe. My experience has been the best recipes are often from some bloggers who actually made the thing. The worst recipes are those online collections people put together in order to make money by attracting traffic. As soon as you see any ads, turn around!

Anyway, I used this recipe for the pride bread from somebody who published a Turkish cooking book. I did change the shape of the bread so that it is easy to manage otherwise I pretty much followed it step by step. There are also other Turkish recipes at the site and I am planning to come back for them!
