We just came back from a five day vacation to the Carins/Port Douglas/Great Barrier Reef area. It was fun even though we were wet all the time. May is not supposed to be the rain season any more but I guess you never know for tropical climate--there is only weather forecast for one day avaliable on Bureau of Meterology's website. What is the weather for the day after tomorrow? Who knows. That is like chasing a wild goose.
Here are the highlights of our trip and I'll gradually post pictures when sorting them out in the next few days.
1. Yoyo spotted a couple of cassowaries in the wild! It was a very lucky encounter considering there are only around 1,200 left in the world.
2. MM attempted to snorkle. At the end of the day although he was not the most capable snorkler in the world, he surely was the cutest, especially when stuggling to find his thumb in his lycra wetsuit.
3. YoyoMama did treasure hunting wherever she went because she found tropical seeds and shells extremely attractive. She carried a huge bag of treasures back to Canberra but she doesn't think she can take them back to China.
4. YoyoPapa somewho was very attractive to a parrot, who jumped onto YoyoPapa's hand, gradully tredged along his arm and then stayed on his shoulder!
