Good news is the pepper I grew started fruiting, and they are quite a few of peppers (a dozen+) as you can see from the picture. Bad news is that they don't like what they are supposed to be like.
I remember the label says these should be red Mexican peppers, you know, the small, pointy but supper hot ones. But now they look like the much fatter type, which may or may not be hot at all. Plus one of the biggest fruit begins turning into deep purple/black in color?! I understand red peppers could be green when they are rather small, but I never expect there would be a middle/black color stage.

I was in the supermarket last night and I saw some black peppers there. First time I have noticed and all because I saw your post. It looks to me that they are black when they are not ripe yet and half way between green and red. That would get something near black.
