Canberra food review III- Yum Thai

Dickson area has at least three Thai restaurants and Yum Thai is the second one we checked out. We went to Two Sisters quite a while ago and wasn't too impressed (they serve Lao and Thai food supposedly. Way too much mints in my salad and it felt I was chowing some solid mouth wash cleaned rather than having my dinner.) We in fact checked the third one this time as well but their menu doesn't look too promising.

We weren't disappointed with Yum Thai. I ordered stir-fried curry veal from chef's special menu and it was delicious and even pretty to look at. MM ordered shrimp-tofu-rice noodle and it was also good, although the amount wasn't enough--not a big surprise, normally MM would still be hungry we finish eating; unless we went to TurkOz of course. Luckily they gave me a huge pile of rice and MM seemed to be a bit happier after devouring half of that.

By the way, the rice was served in a slivery and championship-cup-looking container. Their rice was cooked perfectly as well by the way.

Name: Yum Thai
Location: Dickson
Price: OK and there are a lot to choose from, anywhere between $15 ~ $30 for a main dish
Pros: great service and great food
Cons: decor is a bit odd--they have both wooden Buddha sculpture as well as natural landscape posters framed behind glass--a strange combination. Also the lights was light blue, not a very soothing/romantic environment.
Peculiarity: rice-serving container
Whether go back soon: yes
